Purpose of Teaching Venues
The Library uses these teaching venues primarily for information literacy programs and various Library events. Campus units may reserve the venues for academic purposes. They can accommodate an audience size of 25 and above.
For tutorials, seminars or classes of smaller size:
Multi-function Room (LG4)
For talks, classes, seminars; setting is flexible. Check its location and equipment.
HKUST staff may check the “Teaching Venues” Room Booking schedule and send booking request via the Booking Request Form (staff mediated, Mon-Friday, 9am-5pm). Please make the request during office hours.
*Due to high demand, the Multi-function Room can be reserved within 2 weeks only.
E-learning Classrooms (LG1)
The two E-learning Classrooms ( Classroom A | Classroom B) have different computer software installed and they are designed for teaching information literacy, media literacy, and other workshops.
Students may use the computers when the Classrooms are not reserved. HKUST staff may check the “Teaching Venues” Room Booking schedule and send booking request via the Booking Request Form (staff mediated, Mon-Friday, 9am-5pm). Please make the request during office hours.
* Due to high demand, Classroom B can be reserved within 2 weeks only.
Software Upgrade Schedule
The software in these computers are updated during semester breaks. Version cutoff date is set to be 1 month before the start of the coming semester. Due to heavy use traffic and workload, the Library cannot install new software or upgrade to new version in the middle of the semesters.
