This form is intended for requests which go beyond the scope provided for in the existing license, including the creative commons license (CC-BY-NC-ND) used for many Library-created databases. These include requesting permission for inclusion in research output (journals, books, etc.) or other publications, requesting to create derivative works, requesting a high-resolution version which is not covered by the database license, and any other use not clearly already covered by whichever license is used for the image database involved.

The use of images from our Special Collections beyond the permission of the creative commons license (CC-BY-NC-ND) is subject to approval.
The use of images is limited to one time and to the mentioned format and purpose only.
You are required to acknowledge the source of the image (i.e. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Library) in the publication or other usage.
You are requested to donate one copy of the related publication to the HKUST Library after it is published (or provide a print or photo of the usage if it is not in a publication).
Processing charges may apply and are based on the number of images approved.
The HKUST Library retains all rights to the images provided including any reproductions supplied or derived from them.
