The exhibition brings formerly hidden gems out of storage, some hundreds of years old; among them, rare books in the history of science and antique maps of China. The items on display show the diversity of the holdings of the Archives and Special Collections, including:
- Rare early editions of books by Galileo and Newton
- The first western illustrated book on Chinese medicine
- The first western map of China
- Original handwritten correspondence by Madame Song Qingling (宋慶齡)
- The manuscript by a famous Qing scholar Wang Shizhen (王士禎)
- Early publications of the University
