Returns

Books

• You may use the book returns located in front of the Library, in the Academic Concourse and in the Cheng Yu Tung Building.
• The Library Material Pickup Station outside the Learning Commons also includes a book return.

Other Materials

• Other materials, e.g. reserve materials, media materials and Kindle devices, should be returned to the Service Counter.

Losses and Damage

• For lost or damaged items, including Kindles and technology items, the user will be charged the cost of replacement plus a processing fee of $100 for each item.
• Only cash will be accepted for payment at the Service Counter. You may pay by cheque made payable to “The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology” with your name and university/library card number at the back.
• Patrons may not keep a damaged item after they have paid for replacement.
• Ask at the Service Counter for further details of the policy.
