JULAC Library Card
JULAC Library Card allows card holders to have access to other UGC-funded libraries.
For Staff and Postgraduates
All faculty, academic equivalent staff, research assistants and postgraduate students are eligible for JULAC cards. The card lets you use the facilities of and borrow materials from other libraries. Application is free.
For Undergraduates
Undergraduate students are eligible for JULAC reader cards only. The card lets you access other libraries without borrowing privileges and expires on July 31 each year. Each host library will charge you HK$50 for registration and renewal.
Application Procedures
Submit your application online with a recent ID photo in JPEG or PNG format. Applications will be processed within 3 working days. An email notification will be sent to you once your JULAC card is ready for printing and collection at the G/F Service Counter.

Print & Collect your JULAC card at the G/F Service Counter
Present your physical HKUST card and the QR code from the notification email when picking up your JULAC card.
- Click “START” at the JULAC Card Print & Collect Point
- Tap your HKUST card
- Scan the QR code
- Collect your JULAC card

Renewal
Online renewal applications for the JULAC card can be submitted as early as one month before the expiry date of your current card.
Report Lost / Card Replacement
If you have lost your JULAC card, report to the library via email at lbcirc@ust.hk. The lost card will be deactivated once the library receives your report.
A fee of HK$50 will be charged for the replacement.
Blackout Periods
Some libraries may have blackout periods during which access by JULAC card holders is restricted. Most often, it is during examination weeks. Check the websites of individual libraries for details.
