HKUST Library E-Discovery Week: Learn, Search, Win!
February 17-21, 2025
A Great Success
Library E-Discovery Week 2025, held from February 17 to 21, was a great success! Over 2,000 students and staff participated in our E-Discovery Week Exhibition, Online Workshops, and Online Challenge. Each activity included quizzes to keep everyone engaged and learning.
One of the coolest highlights was our new stamp collection game at the exhibition, where participants visited various booths to explore our featured e-resources and collect stamps, earning up to nine Lucky Draw chances. All valid stamp collections and quiz submissions were entered into the Big Lucky Draw.
On March 12, we celebrated with a prize presentation ceremony in the Library’s IC Learning Space. Lucky Draw winners received their prizes from Dr. Gabrielle Wong, Director of Library Services, and Mr. Edward Spodick, Associate Director of Library Services, while Active Participation Winners were awarded by Ms. Venia Mak, Head of Access Services.
Participants found the E-Discovery Week activities highly engaging and valuable. Congratulations to all our prize winners, and a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors for their generous support!

About E-Discovery Week 2025
Get ready for a week of fun, learning, and rewards! Explore the Library’s e-resources and join exciting activities to boost your study and research skills. Plus, earn chances to win exciting prizes!
Your Mission
Complete tasks to earn Lucky Draw chances and help your team win! The more activities you complete, the higher your chances of winning the Grand Prize! All HKUST students and staff can participate (except Library staff).
Activities & Rewards
Task 1: Visit Exhibition Booths & Collect Stamps (Feb 19-20 only)
Feb 19 (Wed), 10am – 5pm; Feb 20 (Thu), 10am – 4pm @ G/F Library Gallery
 | Get your Crewmate Pass (the stamp card) at the G/F entrance. You will be assigned to Red Team or Blue Team. Explore the booths and answer questions to collect stamps. Submit your Pass to the MedBay by Feb 20 (Thursday), 4pm HKT. Rewards:

Task 2: Attend Online Workshops (Feb 17-21)
 | Join the online workshops to learn smart database searching; and Complete a short quiz at the end of the session, with all answers correct Rewards:

Task 3: Submit Online Challenge (Feb 3-21)

Rules & Eligibility
- Open to all current HKUST students and staff (except Library staff).
- Each participant can only submit one completed quiz for E-Discovery Challenge. The same participant can also submit up to 11 end-of-workshop quizzes. All valid submissions will be entered into one big Lucky Draw.
- The Library reserves the right to make final decisions on the award of prizes.
Presentation of Prizes
- The Big Lucky Draw will be conducted on Feb 26 (Wednesday).
- A prize presentation ceremony will be held on Mar 12 (Wednesday), 1pm HKT at the IC Learning Space (Library G/F).
- The Lucky Draw winners will be notified individually by email to collect the prizes at the ceremony. Winners must confirm to collect the prizes in person or authorize someone to collect them on their behalf. Should the winner fail to respond by the due date stated in the email, the winner’s entitlement to the prize will be forfeited. The Library will not issue a separate notice on such forfeiture.
