Rizwan has 20 years of experience in teaching and addressing the education needs of Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) in Hong Kong and he works as a Vice Principal in a local secondary school. Rizwan is active in his research in the area of EM Chinese language learning, Parental Involvement and Multicultural Education.
Also, he sits on various high-level government advisory boards, commission and NGO boards such as Youth Development Commission, Children Commission, Equal Opportunities Commission, Action Committee against Narcotics, Social Welfare Advisory Committee.
In recognition of his contributions towards Youth Development Work in Hong Kong and community services, he received a Medal of Honor in 2021 and a Chief Executive Commendation Award in 2015.
