認識死亡,從而思考自己為何而活,學會珍惜現在,活好當下。伍桂麟先生會和大家分享:死亡文化與忌諱生涯規劃 vs 生前規劃可預計的死亡(預設醫療指示)非自然死亡與屍體發現修補從死亡而來的傷痛 講者:伍桂麟先生,英國註冊遺體防腐師,「香港生死學協會」會長,香港中文大學醫學院解剖室經理及「無言老師」遺體捐贈計劃發起人。工餘致力推廣生死教育及情緒關顧文化,宣揚「從死看生,活好當下」。著有《無言老師 —— 遺體捐贈者給我們的生死教育課》 (獲香港金閱獎2018 最佳醫療健康書)和《生死教育講呢啲》。2019年獲邀為TED Talk講員以及獲選為2019香港十大傑出青年。出席此座談會的同學可獲 HLTH1010 中 “Wellness and Personal Enrichment” 單元 1 小時學習時數 此座談會由圖書館與學生輔導中心聯合舉辦報名連結

About the TalkMaking choices in life has not been easy. When you choose one, you may need to give up another, whether they are personal or professional choices. How do you balance family and work life? Could you aim for career advancement without sacrificing personal and family commitments? Dr Sabrina Lin, the Vice-President for Institutional Advancement, is constantly making choices in her life. With four children, she has still been very active in her IT career. Using her personal choices throughout her tertiary education in Stanford and professional life as examples, Sabrina will share her thoughts on making choices in personal and professional life. She will share some of her tools in making choices, suitable for people in different stages of life. Please bring your general or personal challenges into this discussion.About the SpeakerDr Sabrina Lin is the Vice-President for Institutional Advancement at HKUST. Born in Hong Kong, much of her career has been in the US for Hewlett-Packard, along with two Silicon Valley start-ups. She had also taught at HKUST’s Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management from 2010-2016. Before joining HKUST as VPIA, she was the Corporate Vice President, Commercial Business for Greater China at Cisco Systems. Living Your Best LifeMost of us want to live the best life we can: prosperous, healthy, loving, and giving back to our communities. Many hope to learn and grow into this in our university years and after. But we sometimes forget that the life-lessons from our families and communities can help us learn to live our best lives too.In this talk, Marie-Claire Lim Moore will talk about this, some of which she covered in her two humorous books: Don’t Forget the Soap: and more from my Fabulous Filipina Mother (Call no. E184.F4 M662 2013) and Don’t Forget the Parsley: more from my Positively Filipino Family (Call no. E184.F4 M66 2016). She will address:How we can learn from our parents advice & examples, yet make our own choicesHow to balance being involved in a "passion" (art, community work, etc.) while giving good attention to our "day job" & family responsibilities.Finding, keeping & balancing your "self" across multiple identities, communities, and responsibilitiesStudents may attain 1 hour in "Wellness and Personal Enrichment" of the "Activities" module in the HLTH1010 Course after attending the talk. For non-HKUST registrants, please email us at library@ust.hk.About the Author:Marie Claire Lim Moore is a Filipina-Canadian-American working mother, author, and speaker. After spending her early childhood in Vancouver, her family moved to New York City, where she attended the United Nations International School. She went on to study at Yale (B.A.) and then went into banking; climbing the corporate ladder at Citi, and traveling around the world. She also holds an EMBA from Fordham University.She met her husband while working in Sao Paulo, Brazil and they married in Manila shortly before they moved to Singapore, where she managed the Global Client business for Citi in Asia. Marie Claire and her husband and three children now live in Hong Kong, where she works as Head of Visa Consulting for Hong Kong and Taiwan. Previously, she served as the Development Director at The Womens Foundation, a Hong Kong charity dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls.
