The 36th IMCoS Symposium Hong Kong
October 19-20, 2018
The Hong Kong Symposium was co-hosted by Hong Kong Maritime Museum and the Library. Themed “Cultural Encounters in Maps of China”, the 2-day program consisted of talks in Hong Kong Maritime Museum on October 19th; and a visit to the HKUST Library on October 20th.
On Day 1, talks were given by distinguished academics and prominent collectors from Hong Kong and overseas, including Dr. Lin Jeng-yi from the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Dr. Mario Cams from the University of Macau, and Dr. Gordian Gaeta from Dubai. On Day 2, the attendees visited the Library’s Special Collections.
The Hong Kong Symposium was held as an extension of the Society’s Manila program on October 14-17. It was supported by Jonathan Wattis, IMCoS Representative for Hong Kong and Director, Wattis Fine Art.
