The following resources are now available on a short-term trial basis. Members of the HKUST community are encouraged to give comments to assist the Library with its evaluation.

Consensus

Consensus is an AI search engine for scientific and academic research. It searches over 200 million academic papers and uses language models to help students and researchers find, understand, and synthesize the literature faster. For more details, see the Consensus for Universities Overview here.

Digital Library of Chinese Classics : Texts and Commentaries of Confucianism

DLCC offers the most complete and comprehensive collection of texts on Confucianism to date. Carefully selected by top scholars over a period of 20 years, this vast collection covers 510 Confucian texts, including 458 “heirloom” classic texts and 52 excavated manuscripts from different parts of China.

IEEE English for Technical Professionals

A 21-hour online learning program that uses real-life interactive scenarios to provide non-native English speakers with a working knowledge of English techniques and vocabulary that is essential for today’s technical workplace. Certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of each lesson, as well as the full program.

Passport: Innovation and Sustainability Modules

The Sustainability Module provides insights into sustainability claims, consumer trends, and the adoption of sustainable practices across various industries, countries, and product categories.

The Innovation Module is an AI-driven database that tracks new brand and sub-brand launches globally. It helps monitor which products are expanding or being discontinued over time, categorized by retailer, category, and country. Additionally, it identifies the flavors, claims, formats, and packaging that new brands and sub-brands are using when launching in different markets.
