The Stories behind some Environmental Impact Assessment cases in Hong Kong
The Stories behind some Environmental Impact Assessment cases in Hong Kong
Hong Kong’s Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance (EIAO) officially came into operation on 1 April 1998. There are 275 EIA reports approved in the past 28 years covering new town planning and major infrastructure works. Conducting EIA study in a compact city where development sits close to homes, coastlines and ecologically sensitive areas is both challenging and rewarding. The speaker will share the interesting stories behind the EIA report for some infrastructure development works, such as the “Long Valley Railway Line” and “Airport Third Runway”.
