Document Delivery

To comply with the Copyright (Libraries, Museums and Archives—Prescribed Conditions for Making Copy) Regulation, effective January 1, 2026, HKUST Library will revise the process of Document Delivery services.

Library staff will contact users via their HKUST email to complete a Declaration Form for all Document Delivery requests.

Users must return the completed Declaration Form for the request to proceed. In accordance with the Limitation Ordinance (Cap. 347), the completed form will be retained for up to 7 years.

Scope

Provides scanning and online access of articles and book chapters owned by the Library that are not in electronic format, including print and microform materials. Each eligible user may have up to 3 requests at any one time.

Eligible Users

  • Faculty
  • Research and teaching staff
  • Academic equivalent staff
  • Postgraduates

Requests and Delivery

  • Place requests by clicking “Scanning Service” through PowerSearch.
  • View and download the item via the link provided in the email notice your receive.

Copyright

Document delivery service is provided in accordance with the Hong Kong Copyright Ordinance Cap.528. Requesters should acknowledge the followings:

  • All requested items must be used for the purpose of non-profit making and non-commercial research or private study.
  • Not more than one copy of the same journal article or copies of more than one article contained in the same issue can be requested.
  • Not more than one chapter of the same book or a copy of more than a reasonable proportion can be requested.
