Indulgence by Christina’s Creation features the cake art of Christina Chan through the display of spectacular cakes, custom-made by her for this exhibition.
Born in Hong Kong, Christina Chan discovered her talent in cake artistry when she first baked a fun cake for her little boy’s birthday. Since then, her family has been a continuous source of inspiration that led her to develop a passion for cake artistry, by offering up ideas and special requests for her homemade cakes. Christina is a self-taught artist, and her cakes are unique. She creates her works with confidence, and never fails to “wow” with her innovative ideas. Cakes that resemble an aircraft, a handbag, a cathedral, a 1:1 qipao, and a wedding dress are just some examples of her incredible creations. One has to see to believe that artwork can be edible as well as aesthetically enjoyable!
Indulgence by Christina’s Creation is the first cake art exhibition at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. We are extremely grateful to Christina’s Creation for letting us display these beautiful art pieces in our Library. Of special mention is Christina’s thoughtfulness in making The HKUST Cake for this occasion. We would like to thank Christina sincerely for bringing to the HKUST community this unprecedented and memorable experience.
