Research, the active pursuit of scholarship, is one of the core activities in an institution like HKUST. The way to conduct research has been advancing in all aspects with the help of technology. For example, traditionally research findings is disseminated through formal literature: journal articles, conference proceedings, and book publishing; however, new technology has opened up many new possibilities, quickly changing the environment in which researchers communicate and share their ideas and work. Similarly, many aspects of research activities are facing new opportunities as well as new challenges.
Research Bridge aims to engage the HKUST research community in the discussion of issues and development in all dimensions of scholarly research, including research data access, analysis and data management, social collaboration, researchers’ profiling, digital publishing, research impact metrics, funders’ expectations, policies, and more. In addition, the platform seeks to showcase HKUST’s research, researchers and their output. HKUST scholars are welcome to contact us to feature new books, projects and ideas.
This blog is administered by the Research Support Services team in the Library. One to two posts come out weekly; and we welcome guest authors from the HKUST community. If you have any suggestions or questions, find Gabi Wong (lbgabi@ust.hk) or Kevin Ho (lbkevin@ust.hk) for a chat.
